Position Summary
Reporting to the DCQI, the Quality Review nurse supports the medical staff and hospital in identifying opportunities to improve the quality and safety of care for patient through data analysis and process improvement efforts. This position uses rigorous case and statistical analysis to identify gaps in performance and leads multidisciplanary teams to achieve the facilities goal of being a Top 10% hospital for quality and safety.
Minimum Education:
- Current BSN or associate in nursing with significant quality and clinical experience.
- Prefer MSN, MHA or MBA
Minimum Experience/Skills:
- One to three years experience in an acute care setting.
- Proficient in Excel including data analysis and QI Macros for statistical reporting.
- Experience with facilitating process improvement in an acute care setting required.
License/Certificates/Credentials:
- Current California RN licensure.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred within 1 year of hire.
- Certification in Lean or Six Sigma for Healthcare preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Lift/position up to 25 lbs.
- Push/pull up to 25 lbs of force.
- Moderate sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending, manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position, adequate vocal pitch and volume
Vision Requirements: Sufficient perceptive acuity (vision and hearing) to perform all the related duties of the position.
Working Conditions: Subject to irregular hours based on the demands of the job, moderate pressure due to multiple calls, inquiries, and time demands, subject to varying and unpredictable situations, occasional exposure to risk of contagious and blood borne diseases, occasional exposure to unpleasant elements.
