Job Summary
The Caterer Coordinator directs the preparation of and assists with cooking of food as needed Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Sets up, monitors, and breaks down physician lounges, catered events, and other occasions
Prepares Salads, Fruits, Deli Platters, Trays and Sandwiches according to standardized recipes
Handles the preparation of the food in accordance with sanitary regulations and makes sure at all times that the food is palatable and appetizing in appearance
Plans, organizes, the preparation of salad and sandwich items for the various needs of the department
Determines whether a product is prepared correctly and decides if it is to be served
Discerns through vision (color perception) and taste the quality of prepared food items
Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of all equipment used in the kitchen
Understands and applies proper sanitation regulations to the daily operations of the department
Checks temperature of prepared foods at various times during the day
Communicates with verbal and written skills to coworkers and supervisors
Assures the timely delivery of food
Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe work environment
Participates in Performance Improvement activities
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year in catering, waiting, serving or food service.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
