Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign on bonus

Supervises all pharmacy technician staff, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Duties include overseeing pharmacy
technician preparation, packaging, delivering and charging of medication orders to ensure efficient technician workflow and optimal
automation operations; maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications; interviews, hires and trains
pharmacy technicians. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties
as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares, packages and labels medications
• Ensures timely delivery of medications and assures adherence to delivery schedule.
•  Serves as automation technician supervisor including ADCs, packagers, barcode printers, and scanners.
•  Ensures completion of all assignments and delegate appropriately.
•  Assures completion of department charge reconciliation processes and notifies supervisory of any variances
•  Ensures adequate supplies of medications.
•  Ensures compliance with quality assurance logs with proper documentation.
•  Oversees the preparation of IV admixture, parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy duties
•  Reports suspected adverse drug reactions and medication occurrences.
• Recommends improvement in pharmacy or facility processes that will decrease the potential for adverse outcomes

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Three years hospital pharmacy experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registration.
Pharmacy Tech certification (based on state requirements).
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: IV Admixture Certification
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): NA
